Adjustable Fluid Resistance

The Fluid Rower’s water tank consists of two separate tanks: an inner tank and an outer tank. The inner tank is the ‘passive tank’ or storage tank, while the outer tank is the ‘active tank’ or resistance tank. If you select a higher resistance with the dial while rowing, the water is moved from the passive tank to the active tank. As a result, you experience more resistance after a few rowing strokes. If you choose a lower resistance, the water is siphoned from the active tank back to the passive tank so you experience less resistance after a few strokes. The 5 resistance levels make the rower suitable for all training levels. Whether you’re going for a light cardio workout or a high-intensity workout, it can all be done on the same rowing machine.

The steel frame above the tank absorbs the most force during exercise. That’s because you push off on the footplate and pull on the pulley at the front of the frame using the cord. Because this frame consists of one part curved steel on the R90W, it prevents squeaks and creaks and feels super sturdy. This allows you to exercise as intensively as you want on a Fluid Rower without worrying about breaking anything. The tank frame is neatly hidden behind a layer of ash wood, fully in line with the rest of the rowing trainer.

The Bluetooth Monitor gives instant insight into all your training parameters such as time, watts, calories, distance and rowing strokes per minute. In addition, the monitor automatically displays the resistance level you set via the dial on the rower. You can also connect to training apps such as Tunturi Routes, Fluid Connect, Regatta, Asensei, EXR and Kinomap using Bluetooth.

The so-called Power Graph is a unique feature of the Bluetooth Monitor. This graph shows your rowing stroke in real time. You can use that information to perfect your rowing technique. The better your technique, the more you get out of your workout! In fact, the ideal rowing stroke consists of six steps that make up one smooth repetitive cyclical movement.

The seat of the R90W guarantees the most comfortable rowing training with the perfect balance between hard and soft. Thanks to the well-thought-out, ergonomic shape and non-slip texture, you sit firmly yet comfortably in the seat. The seat is raised for easy access. For extra stability, the seat rides on a dual rail. The double-bearing wheels under the seat ride smoothly over two plastic strips attached to both rails. This prevents wear and tear, resulting in an always silent rowing experience: you won’t hear any sound other than the ‘whoosh’ of the moving water.

The R90W combines the sturdiness of steel and the robust look of wood. The frame at the water tank is steel, while the rest of the rower is made of strong and durable American ash wood. The wood has been sanded and varnished twice for extra protection, even during the most intense workouts. Each threaded hole in the wooden frame is fitted with a metal bushing. This prevents the wood from splitting or the screw from overturning during assembly and the rowing trainer from losing its sturdiness over time. Every detail of the rower has been optimised for intensive and long-term use.

The Tunturi Signature R90W has a premium ergonomic handle. Thanks to its slightly curved and extra-wide shape, it provides the best grip during every rowing stroke. Your body automatically assumes the best posture so you can apply the most force. The handle is connected to a nylon belt: strong, quiet and stable. The strength of the bungee, the elastic band that pulls the belt back, has been optimised so that it doesn’t add resistance but still smoothly pulls the belt back into the trainer as soon as you move forward. This is done in one smooth movement, without the bungee giving a pulling sensation or the belt ‘stuttering’ during this movement.

Each foot firmly in place

The footplates are height-adjustable and feature two sturdy, separate foot straps that allow you to individually secure each foot. Your feet are close together, just like in a real rowing boat. Both footplates also feature a specially designed ‘bucket’ at the bottom. Thanks to its design, this heel support fits perfectly around the heel of your shoe and moves with you during every rowing movement. As a result, your foot will never slip off while rowing.
